Peet's Switches to Cold Brewing for Iced Coffee; Half Off Through June 8, 2015

Peet's Coffee has switched to cold brew coffee (as opposed to the more standard drip coffee) for their iced coffee and is highlighting the change with a new iced coffee drink: the Limited Edition Black Tie.

Additionally, they're offering 50% off any Cold Brew Iced Coffee through Monday, June 8, 2015 (with coupon).

Peet's cold brew process involved letting coffee steep for 12 hours in cold, filtered water, whereas drip coffee involves pouring hot water over coffee grinds and waiting for it to drip into your cup. Cold brew has become more popular recently with competitors such as Starbucks and Caribou offering their own versions (even Chick-fil-A has gotten in on the act). Cold brew coffee is typically smoother and more mellow than regular brewed coffee.

The new Black Tie features cold brew coffee with sweetened condensed milk, house-made chicory simple syrup, and half-and-half.
