Review: Frito Lay's Smoky Chipotle BBQ Doritos Jacked

New Smoky Chipotle BBQ Doritos Jacked from Frito Lay delivers a bigger, thicker Doritos chip with more powdered flavor. The flavor profile is a sweet, smoky barbecue sauce with the spicy bite of chipotle.

A 10.5-ounce bag of Doritos Jacked retails for $4.29 but a sale price of $2.50 was enough to score me a bag.

Doritos Jacked gives up a little bit of the thin crunch of regular Doritos chips for a thicker, hearty crunch. The texture slightly is smoother than regular Doritos and with less air bubbles from frying. If these were plain old salted tortilla chips, they would make for some great dipping with the increased size and thickness. They'd also hold up well to nacho cheese.

I've never had a barbecued flavor tortilla chip, but it. Is. Awesome! The slightly sweet, smoky, tangy barbecue pairs superbly well with the thick, corn tortilla chip. Add that swift kick of heat and you get a nice little party in your mouth. The burn lasts a fair bit too. Yeah... it's pretty spicy... Not quite "Flamin' Hot" territory but getting there!

As long as they can stand the heat, Doritos fans will definitely want to give Smoky Chipotle BBQ Jacked tortilla chips a try.
