Review: Starbucks - Java Chip Frappuccino Ice Cream

Starbucks Java Chip Frappuccino Ice Cream offers the taste of a Java Chip Frappuccino in ice cream form. Of course they could have just called it Java Chip Ice Cream because it's just coffee ice cream with dark chocolaty chunks.

A pint normally sells for $4.99 at my local supermarket but I picked this one up on sale for $2.50.

A far as coffee ice cream goes, this one has a rather pronounced creamy, rich, coffee flavor that I like very much. There is a bit of a weird fine sand grittiness to it though. It doesn't bother me much but it might be off-putting for some. I'm really not sure what causes it.
While the dark chocolaty chunks don't actually contain chocolate, they do a good job of providing a solid  dark chocolate flavor when you come across one which is good enough for me.
I'm a big fan of coffee ice cream and Starbucks Java Chip Frappuccino Ice Cream does a pretty good job of it with a tasty hit of coffee flavor and dark fudge chunks.
