The shake features chocolate ice cream blended with crushed holiday mints, garnished with whipped topping, more crushed mints, and a requisite maraschino cherry on top.

I picked one of these up today (using my Sonic gift card that I won in your giveaway... thank you again), and I liked it a lot. I might have preferred a bit more chocolate flavor, but it was the perfect amount of mint flavor and the two were balanced very well. I also liked how the mint pieces added some texture (and it's a much better texture than the McDonald's holiday mint McFlurry... although I liked that McFlurry, the texture was a little weird).
ReplyDeleteI would definitely recommend giving this shake a try. (And hopefully Sonic will bring back the pumpkin pie shake next year!)
I tried one, and it was pretty good. 870 calories is pretty hefty for a small shake, but it's a good indulgence once in a while. Oddly the prices are $1 higher for this than the other shakes (same as the blasts):
ReplyDeleteMini - $1.99 for a regular shake, $2.99 for the holiday shake
Small (which I got) - $2.39 for a regular shake, $3.49 for the holiday shake
Medium - $2.99 for a regular shake, $3.99 for the holiday shake
Large - $3.99 for a regular shake, $4.99 for the holiday shake
Seems like the more dominant flavor is mint for the first half of the shake, then chocolate for the second half (at least for mine).
The $1 premium is kinda odd.
