Review: Taco Bell - Pineapple Freeze

Taco Bell's Pineapple Freeze is a pineapple-flavored ice slush drink. It's available for a limited time and comes with a green lid to visually mimic a pineapple.

I got a 16-oz regular size cup for $2.89.

The Pineapple Freeze has a fairly pleasant artificial pineapple flavor that is devoid of any tartness. I happened to enjoy this aspect a lot as I'm not a fan of sour or tangy things in general. It basically tasted like a frozen pineapple soda but wasn't too intense in terms of the sugar, so it never got cloying.

In terms of texture, the ice had a medium-fine grind to it that lent the drink a granular texture without being overly icy. The Pineapple Freeze was less fine and airy than a Slurpee and had a more liquid-y consistency. It melted and separated fairly quickly and required frequent stirring in order to maintain a uniform drinking experience.

Taco Bell's Pineapple Freeze was a refreshing if generic pineapple-flavored slush that is on theme for the coming summer months. Those who were looking for a more tart flavor might be disappointed with this LTO offering, though.
