Review: Stouffer's - Fried Chicken & Mashed Potatoes Bowl-Fulls

Stouffer's Fried Chicken & Mashed Potatoes Bowl-Fulls features a bowl of breaded white meat chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, and corn (there's apparently some cheddar cheese thrown in as well although I didn't notice it). It's basically the Stouffer's version of a KFC Famous Bowl.

I bought one on sale for $2.50.

As is typical of fried chicken cooked in the microwave, the chicken here doesn't ever get crunchy but each piece did exhibit a hearty, somewhat chewy shell of breading. Inside the chicken was moist and flavorful. They look like chicken nuggets but each contained an intact piece of chicken inside.

The mashed potatoes were fairly creamy with a smoothed, whipped consistency. Since, it's all reheated together, it does get a little runny as the gravy soaks in a little.

The gravy seemed to be more of a brown gravy than a chicken gravy. It offered a robust, savory flavor that I quite enjoyed.

The corn turned out below average for frozen food as there were some dried out and overcooked kernels. I'm not sure if everything cooking/reheating together had something to do with it.

Overall, Stouffer's Fried Chicken & Mashed Potatoes Bowl-Fulls (shouldn't it just be Bowl-Full?) was, for the most part, pretty good. It might have turned out a bit better in texture with all the components separated in a tray but it still turned out tasty enough.
