Review: Wendy's - Pumpkin Spice Frosty

Wendy's Pumpkin Spice Frosty side-view.

Wendy's Pumpkin Spice Frosty is a limited-time fall Frosty flavor that features their vanilla Frosty base mixed with pumpkin spice syrup.

A small cup cost me $2.29.

The pumpkin spice syrup lent the Frosty a pale orange tinge to its cream-colored base. The colored reminded me a bit of custard.

The consistency of a Frosty sits somewhere between a shake and soft serve as it's not as set as the latter but you can't drink it with a straw (well, you can but you'd have to try really, really hard). There's a smooth, creamy mouthfeel to it and it's easily spoonable. There are visible ice crystals but they don't give the Frosty a gritty texture.

Flavor-wise, there was a little bit of a creamy vanilla flavor up front that quickly gave way to a mellow, sweet pumpkin taste as well as a somewhat heavy hit of spice. It's similar to Wendy's Pumpkin Spice Frosty Cream Cold Brew but with a more intense, sweeter flavor.

A spoonful of Wendy's Pumpkin Spice Frosty.

Overall, Wendy's Pumpkin Spice Frosty made for a nice change of pace from the chain's regular Frosty flavors. The taste reminded me generally of pumpkin spice ice cream with a slightly softer than soft serve texture.
