Fast Food Fails: Little Caesars - Pepperoni Crazy Puffs

A box of Little Caesars Pepperoni Crazy Puffs.

It occasionally happens when purchasing a new menu item early on in its launch that there are some mishaps in the production of the dish and that's what happened when I ordered Little Caesars' new Crazy Puffs.

What went wrong?

As far as my experiences go, there's usually only one thing wrong with the new item but, this time around, there were three issues that made my Crazy Puffs not up to spec.

Crazy Puffs are hand-held pizza puffs filled with mozzarella, pepperoni, and pizza sauce, topped with a buttery garlic-flavored drizzle as well as Italian herb & parmesan seasoning.

The first issue was no pizza sauce in my Crazy Puffs. This left them without a tangy element.

Second, the buttery garlic-flavored drizzle and Italian herb & parmesan seasoning were also missing. That's a lot of flavor that was missing.

Finally, one of my Crazy Puffs was similar to a pizza muffin as there wasn't any indent or hollow in the middle of the puff to hold the cheese and pepperoni. As a result, it tasted like a thick round of bread topped with pepperoni and cheese. Fortunately, only one Crazy Puff was afflicted by this particular problem and the other Puffs included a proper hollow.

For the most part, my batch of Little Caesars Crazy Puffs tasted like thick pepperoni cheese bread. I'll probably give this another go this week to see if I can get a proper batch for review.
