Review: Blue Diamond - Bold Wasabi Soy Sauce Almonds

Blue Diamond Bold Wasabi Soy Sauce Almonds promise "Smart Snacking with Intense Taste."

They come in a 6-ounce can for $3.99.

I like roasted almonds in general and I've never had any bad ones, but the flavored ones can be hit or miss.

These feature the sharp distinctive sting of wasabi paired with the salty tang of soy sauce. The flavor is heavy enough to let you know it's wasabi, but not so much that it clears your sinuses or brings tears to your eyes. It's a familiar combination if you like to eat sushi and pretty addicting to boot. If you've never eaten wasabi, it's also known as Japanese horseradish and exhibits a spicy bite similar to spicy brown mustard.

The flavor works really well with almonds and it's a novel change-up from the typical smoked flavor that almonds normally come in.

If you've never tried horseradish, it's a fairly polarizing taste; some people love it, and some people despise it. If you like horseradish, you'll find a lot to like with Blue Diamond Bold Wasabi Soy Sauce. I really enjoyed these and the "bold" moniker fits them well.
