Frozen Friday: Chili's - Pepper Jack Mac 'N' Cheese

Chili's Pepper Jack Mac 'N' Cheese frozen meal features rotini pasta in a pepper jack cheese sauce.

A 10-oz box was $2 on sale.

The pepper jack sauce gives a different look and taste to your typical mac & cheese. Beside the Monterey Jack creamy cheesiness, there's also a hint of pepper flavor from both jalapenos as well as green and red bell peppers. It's not very spicy though with just the barest hint of heat.

The pasta didn't turn out too soft or firm and the spirals do a good job of wicking up the sauce.

Overall, Chili's Pepper Jack Mac 'N' Cheese was pretty good. The Monterey Jack and peppers make for an enjoyable take on the classic dish. It could do with a bit more added texture though; maybe some breadcrumbs or the like?
