Burger King Brings Back Yumbo Ham & Cheese Sandwich

After 40 years, Burger King brings back the Yumbo Hot Ham & Cheese Sandwich. Available for a limited time, the Yumbo features slices of thin-sliced black forest ham, melted American cheese, lettuce, and mayo on the same sesame seed hoagie bun as the Original Chicken Sandwich.

While the company purports to be bringing it back, the returning sandwich has been "refreshed" and differs from the original with the addition of lettuce and mayo. Also, the original sandwich came on a sesame seed burger bun rather than a hoagie bun. The sandwich was discontinued back in 1974.

"Yumbo" appears to be a combination of "yum" and "jumbo."

The Yumbo Hot Ham & Cheese Sandwich carries a suggested price of $3.69 but is also included in Burger King's two for $5 menu whose current rotation also includes the Big King, Original Chicken Sandwich, and Big Fish Sandwich.
