Review: Nonni's - Gingerbread Biscotti

Nonni's Gingerbread Biscotti features gingerbread-flavored biscotti dipped in sweet icing.

The suggested retail price is $3.29 per 6.88-ounce box but I received this courtesy of Nonni's.

The gingerbread flavor is fairly light with a combination of ginger, brown sugar, and spice paired with almond. It's lightly sweetened and that works out pretty well with the icing.

The icing is quite sweet and a little creamy but spread out thin so it's not overpowering. It looks flecked with brown, like cinnamon or some other spice, but it's actually crumbs from the biscotti. The icing itself doesn't exhibit any spiced flavor.

Texture-wise, it is yielding but crispy and somewhat airy, with crunchier bits of almond here and there.

Overall, Nonni's Gingerbread Biscotti makes for a nice, crunchy, snackable holiday dessert. Some might want something more intense but I guess they didn't want to veer into gingersnap territory.
