Review: Mrs. Fields - Milk Chocolate Chip Cookies

Mrs. Fields Milk Chocolate Chip Cookies feature individually wrapped soft-baked chocolate chip cookies.

It's usually around $2.50 for an 8-oz box of eight cookies but I received these courtesy of Mrs. Fields (along with the "cookies for Santa" place setting pictured below) because they're donating one individually-wrapped cookie to the USO (up to 250,000 cookies) for every Twitter mention of @cookiemoment through December 31, 2014.

While looking up the price for a box of these, I noticed that milk chocolate chips used to be the most abundant ingredient but, at least on the box I received, it is now the second most abundant ingredient (behind flour). There are still a good amount of chocolate chips though.

The chocolate chips are fairly large compared to the size of the cookie. Some of them fill in the entire height of the cookie. The milk chocolate is smooth and creamy but definitely tilts toward overly sweet territory.

Beyond the chocolate chips, the rest of the cookie is relatively moist with the familiar buttery brown sugar notes. It's just a little crumbly.

Overall, Mrs. Fields Milk Chocolate Chip Cookies are good with plenty of very sweet chocolate chips to them. These are definitely meant to be enjoyed with a cup of milk. Like most packaged cookies, you're not going to mistake them with their fresh-baked counterparts though.
