- Burger King - Fiery Nuggets - I didn't think I would like these as much as I did but I really liked the discontinued Spicy Ch'King and BK's Fiery Nuggets offer the same spicy flavor.
- Review: KFC - Hot & Spicy Wings - I was a huge fan of KFC Hot Wings before they discontinued them These might have been even better. Unfortunately, they were only a limited-time item.
- McDonald's Mambo Sauce - While I didn't like the Sweet & Spicy Jam they released this year, I quite liked McDonald's Mambo Sauce, which added an enjoyable complexity and heat to the Chicken McNuggets that I ate them with.
- Taco Bell - Grilled Cheese Dipping Taco - Like a lot of Taco Bell menu items, Taco Bell's take on a quesabirria taco bore only a vague resemblance to the original but still presented something actually new to the menu that delivered a great, if messy, mix of tastes and textures. I hope they bring the shredded beef back for other applications.
- Yoshinoya - Tokyo Fried Chicken - Something new, different, and good in the fast food realm. Previously, I could only get chicken karaage at a Japanese restaurant, usually a ramen shop or izakaya. This is way more convenient.
