McDonald's Rolls Out New Vanilla Cappuccinos and More; Brings Back Pumpkin Spice Latte

McDonald's has started rolling out their a number of new espresso-based drinks, including new vanilla cappuccinos, to upgrade their McCafe menu and are also in the process of bringing back their pumpkin spice latte for the fall.

The new vanilla cappuccinos features a combination of espresso, vanilla-flavored syrup and "frothy" milk (which should amount to a  more milk foam-heavy version of their lattes). Other new espresso-based drinks being added are an Americano as well as a caramel macchiato.

The Americano consists of hot water and espresso to make a drink similar to brewed coffee while the caramel macchiato seems copied from Starbucks. It features espresso, caramel syrup, and steamed milk with a drizzle of caramel on top. An iced version delivers a different visual appearance with espresso layered over milk.

The returning pumpkin spice latte features espresso and steamed milk with pumpkin spice syrup.

The new drinks are currently being rolled out and should be widely available at participating locations by mid- to late September. If they sound somewhat familiar, they were spotted in test in Northern California earlier this year. Along with their introduction, McDonald's has updated the look of their McCafe cups.

McDonald's continues to offer small McCafe drinks for $2.
