Review: Jack in the Box - Wakey Bakey Hash

Jack in the Box's Wakey Bakey Hash features a fried egg, bacon, pepper jack cheese, and with hash browns and white cheese sauce.

I paid $3 for an order.

Of the three new Munchie Mash-Ups, the Wakey Bakey Hash seems to be the breakfast option. It's also the one that feels most like a hash.

My particular Wakey Bakey Hash wasn't much to look at but it hit the right notes flavor-wise. I got a nice dose of the various breakfast staples: egg, bacon, cheese, and potatoes.

The egg sported slightly crispy edges and was smothered in savory, liquid cheese. I didn't detect any of the melty ooze or heat of pepper jack which made me wonder if it was missing in action.

The two hash brown patty each had a wonderfully crispy crust that made up for the lack of any crunch to the bacon. The bacon managed to impart an enjoyable smokiness to the cheese sauce though.

While Jack in the Box's Wakey Bakey Hash make for a tasty (if ugly) anytime breakfast combination, you're left to make it a hash yourself as both the egg and the hash browns arrive whole and uncut.
