News: Wendy's - New Bacon Portabella Mushroom Melt

I caught this passing my local Wendy's restaurant and managed to verify it: Wendy's is out with the new, limited-time Bacon Portabella Mushroom Melt. Some of you might recognize it as the previous limited-time offer Bacon Mushroom Melt, but with an extra slice of cheese.

The burger features a quarter pound beef patty, two slices of American cheese, and thick-cut applewood-smoked bacon, smothered with portabella mushrooms in a cheddar cheese sauce made with Old English Cheddar.

The suggested retail price on one of these is $4.39 for a Single and $6.39 for a Single Combo with a side and drink. The Double version goes for $5.49 and a Triple is $6.89. Price will vary with location.

  1. I would be surprised, perhaps even shocked akin to swimming in an electric eel-infested section of the mighty Amazon River, if that mushroom could be tasted what with the other ingredients sharing the bun.

  2. Five days late but I literally just ate one and yes, you can taste the mushroom.

Really good, too. Better than the old "bacon mushroom melt". I can't remember the last time I ate Wendy's but they definitely have stepped their game up. Quality ingredients top to bottom on this burger.

  3. I also just had one and agree it was tasty, but just a touch on the salty side, probably because of the cheese sauce. If they dropped a little bit of the salt it would be great
