Around the World: KFC France - Mountain Boxmaster

In some countries abroad, KFC offers the Boxmaster, which is a box-shaped flour tortilla wrap that comes in different varieties depending on the country, but generally filled with KFC chicken (grilled or fried), hash brown, lettuce, tomato, and sauce.

Recently, in France, KFC introduced the new, limited time Mountain Boxmaster with a region specific AOC French cheese called "Reblochon."

Basically, Reblochon cheese is only produced in the Alps region (thus the "Mountain") of Haute-Savoie. It's a raw milk cheese known for its richness (Reblochon has not been available in the U.S. since 2004 due to regulations concerning pasteurization of soft and semi-soft cheeses).

It looks a bit like Brie to me and is pretty fancy shoehorned as it is into the Boxmaster.

The Mountain Boxmaster comes filled with a crispy fried chicken breast filet, 2 slices of Reblochon cheese, lettuce, diced onions, a hash brown, and onion sauce.

  1. It's made in a similar way to brie but tastes more like swiss cheese. It's very tasty!
