Review: Choco Chip Oreo Cookies

Choco Chip Oreo cookies feature dual-flavored chocolate and Golden wafers sandwiching chocolate chip cookie-flavored creme.

I bought 10.7-oz package for $2.99.

As you may guess from the appearance, the wafers taste mostly like vanilla-flavored Golden Oreos with the occasional interjection of chocolate-flavored Oreo. While it might be inspired by the appearance of chocolate chip cookies, the wafers are Oreos through and through with the crispy crunch lacking in that buttery, brown sugar taste indicative of chocolate chip cookies.

Fortunately, the sweet creme offered up both the taste and similar texture to chocolate chip cookie dough. What's missing was the smooth milk or dark chocolate chunks you get from chocolate chips or chocolaty chips, as the creme was quite uniform in texture.

Overall, Choco Chip Oreo cookies were pretty good as a different take on the classic chocolate and vanilla pairing of the original, with some newness on account of the cookie dough-like flavor of the creme. I typically eat my Oreos whole, but I preferred taking these apart to better appreciate the flavor of the wafers and creme.
