Starbucks Adds Affogato Option to Frappuccinos

Starbucks takes a cue from affogato, the Italian dessert of gelato with a shot of espresso poured over it, by offering Affogato-style Frappuccinos--that is a Frappuccino doused with a shot of espresso.

The shot is poured on top of the whipped cream and Frappuccino for a hit of extra coffee flavor and a marbled appearance.

Affogato-style is available on any Frappuccino but is specifically featured with three flavors: Vanilla Bean, Caramel, and Mocha. It can be ordered at Starbucks stores in the US and Canada throughout the summer for an extra 80 cents (may vary).

If you're trying to order it via the mobile app, you click on the "+" next to "shots" on your Frappuccino to add an espresso shot to your drink.

The Coffee Bean introduced a similar product last summer for a limited time.
