News: Wendy's - Bacon Portabella Melt Returns with New Brioche Bun

Wendy's Bacon Portabella Melt will be returning on November 11 but will be sporting a new brioche bun made with eggs and butter. The rest of the burger remains the same: a quarter-pound beef patty, sautéed portabella mushrooms in cheddar cheese sauce, thick-cut Applewood Smoked Bacon, and two slices of American cheese.

Wendy's has been experimenting with different breads a fair bit this year; they've done multi-grain flatbread, pretzel buns, and now brioche (I'm still waiting on baguettes though).

The Bacon Portabella Melt on Brioche will roll out at Wendy's restaurants nationwide starting November 11. I'd advise you to call ahead if you're really hankering to try one as large fast food chains like Wendy's tend to have staggered launches where not all restaurants will be serving the new item on Day One.

The suggested retail price on the Bacon Portabella Melt is $4.79. It's only available for a limited time through late December.

Wendy's is running a hilarious commercial for the new sandwich:

Just in case you're confused, it's pronounced "bree-ohsh" but you can call it "bree-ock-kay" if you like.
