Review: Trader Joe's - Pumpkin Spice Granola Cereal

Trader Joe's Pumpkin Spice Granola Cereal is a seasonal item featuring a granola cereal seasoned with pumpkin powder and pumpkin pie spices.

I bought a 16-ounce box for $2.49.

The granola is pretty standard with crunchy clusters of rolled oats and wheat plus some raisins. The non-standard portion is some puffed corn that's thrown in. The puffed corn makes an occasional appearance and feels like a less sweet version of Honey Smacks. It's a subtle difference but adds an extra layer of flavor.

The pumpkin powder and pumpkin pie spices are fairly light and provide just enough of an autumn end note to keep with the spirit of the season.

Overall, Trader Joe's Pumpkin Spice Granola offers a slight variation from the stereotypical granola cereal and pulls it off rather nicely. It's a lightly-sweetened cereal with a satisfying crunch and just a touch of pumpkin pie.
