I picked up a pint for $4.99.
This is ice cream for those of you who like those chocolate assortments. It's basically miniature filled-chocolate in chocolate ice cream and like some of those chocolate assortments, you don't know know what is inside of which until you bite into them.
The ice cream is dense, creamy, and with a good amount of dark chocolate notes.
The chocolate truffles are about as small as you can make them and still get a taste of the centers. They're shaped like mini peanut butter cups but with a thick chocolaty shell. With fairly large chunks, the distribution is going to be a bit uneven, so I'd find myself eating a fair bit of plain chocolate ice cream before coming across a number of truffles.
The centers of the truffles were surprisingly soft for coming out of the freezer and, as a result, was much more enjoyable than freezing an actual chocolate truffle and eating it.
While the fillings offered just a taste of their various flavors, it was just enough for a pleasant change up from all the chocolate (except for the fudge, which was mostly a change of texture).
Overall, Ben & Jerry's Truffle Trifecta is mostly for those that want chocolate with their chocolate and sometimes chocolate-filled chocolate with their chocolate. It's good but feels like one of their more plainer flavors.

ReplyDeleteI want to try this so bad! I've been checking the Wags around me for months and I can't find it :(
ReplyDeleteThank you for reviewing this!!
ReplyDeleteSounds awesome!
ReplyDeleteNo problem! Thanks for reading!
ReplyDeleteI hope The Cheesecake Factory brings back their offer again. That was the only one I took advantage of last year and I was hoping to do so again this year.
ReplyDeleteYup they're offering it again. I've updated the post accordingly.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update!
ReplyDeleteI wish they'd stop releasing flavors for only one store. It's really rare that I'll make a special trip somewhere just to buy one thing.
ReplyDeleteAt least there's a Walgreen's on every freakin' corner, at least around here. The worst is when there's an exclusive product at stores that don't exist in your area.
ReplyDeleteTruth!
ReplyDeletePenn Station is offering a free 6" sub with $30 gift purchase. I don't see it on the website but I'll try to post the gif from the email...

ReplyDeleteHave you tried 2nd St Creamery ice cream? I found it at a local Walmart and, intrigued, picked up the caramel flavor. Wow! You should try some if you can find it.
ReplyDeleteI'll try and keep an eye out. Thanks!
