A price of $2.79 puts the BK Breakfast Bowl in the range of BK's more "premium" bread breakfast sandwiches which feature sourdough bread or a croissant.
My local Burger King was pretty quiet at 9am, it could have been my imagination but I was struck by the lack of any sounds of cooking. I watched as my server grabbed a large plastic container from the warmer and spooned it into a bowl. I wondered if they had at least prepared it in house that morning or if it was just a frozen medley that they reheat in the morning. On the plus side, at least I knew that it would still taste the same later on if I threw it in the microwave.
So how was it? It was actually pretty good. I would say "very southwestern." Better than I imagined from reading the description. Initially, I from the look of it, I thought it would be too cheesy, but that wasn't the case at all. The potatoes looked neither roasted nor home-fried but they tasted fine. I did wonder if tater tots would have been a better, crispier, albeit unhealthier, choice.
I really liked the seasoned peppery taste of everything together. If you don't like bell peppers like a certain brother of mine, I would steer clear of this dish. I have to give the nod to Burger King's sausage patty, it's slight step above the other chains; nicely seasoned and not overly salty (for sausage anyway).
If I were getting breakfast at Burger King, the BK Breakfast Bowl would definitely be one of my top choices.

The Bowl doesn't look that great and somehow I think I'd rather have McDonald's Big Breakfast over this.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't look that good but it tastes pretty good!
ReplyDeleteBy far better than a big breakfast and a lot less carbs and calories.
ReplyDeleteactually not bad at all
ReplyDeleteI really loke the BK brakfast bowl, but had no idea how many calories or fat grams were actually in it. I will not eat another one. Fat content and calories too high.
ReplyDeleteim so glad i went to burger king this morning was heading to mcdonalds and somethng made me go to burger kind instead. I dont really care for BK's sand wiches but wow this breakfest bowl thing was delicious!!!!!!!! not enough though so next time ill order 2!
ReplyDeleteWithout the cheese, this is actually fairly healthy, if you can overlook all the sodium. Don't get me wrong - I love cheese. But processed cheeses and cheese sauce can't be good for the body.
ReplyDeletePITIFUL PITIFUL P I T I F U L!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteJust order a BK Breakfast Bowl and sat down at work to eat it I noticed that the bag was kinda light, pulled the bowl out and was surprisely disappointed it look like someone scaped the left overs and scoop in a bowl and put and cover it and called it a breakfast bowl. Jack's breakfast bowls are 3 times better and fuller. First and Last. Will not recommend. On a scale of 1-10; 10 being best I'll give it a 7 for taste and 2.5 on everything else.
A RIPOFF!!!! The BK Breakfast bowl with a small Sprite cost me almost 6.00. It looked like they had taken yesterday's Leftovers and microwaved them in a bowl. It was also a very small Portion for the Money. It tasted okay but for 6 bucks I will go to Denny's or Ihop for a more Upscale and fresher Breakfast.
ReplyDeleteSix bucks?! That's a lot of scratch for a breakfast bowl and a Sprite, I'd rather just go to a sitdown place for that much.
ReplyDeleteFunny sour taste to it. Not worth 540 calories and a huge amount of artery clogging fat. Yuk, never again!
