News: Frito Lay - Doritos Brings Back Jumpin' Jack and Sour Cream & Onion

For a limited time, Frito Lay is bringing back some classic throwback flavors of Doritos tortilla chips to the snack aisle. The two flavors currently available at Doritos Sour Cream & Onion and Doritos Jumpin' Jack.

Doritos Sour Cream & Onion was first introduced during the late 1970s and had a brief run through the early 1980s. Frito Lay brought it back around this time last year (along with Doritos Salsa Rio) and are offering it again this year.

Doritos Jumpin' Jack were introduced in 1990 and I remember them as being very similar to Doritos Ranch.

If you're looking to try either of these classic flavor again (or for the first time), you can try your luck with Frito Lay's product locator to find the nearest store that stocks them.

Both flavors are only hanging around through February.

  1. Jumpin' Jack used to be my favorite Doritos flavor, when I was about 8 years old...

I haven't eaten Doritos in years (it seems I don't really like chips at all anymore), but I may have to try a bag of these again for nostalgia's sake.

  2. Sadly, the sour cream & onion are nothing like the way they used to be. It appears for this release they merely toned down the cool ranch flavor, and the result is something spicier than the old formula was. the old one was more garlicy, and it was the bomb.

This tastes like crap!!! I use to buy 3 big bags a week back in the day until they stopped making them without any reason. The closest to them are the spicey nacho. The jumpin jack back in the day was full of cheese and didn't have the nasty cool ranch flavor that this has. I hope they get their act together and bring back the real thing. Its been over 10 years.
