Review: Burger King - Cheesy Tots

Burger King's Cheesy Tots are back for a limited-time. Having never tried them, I was pretty curious to see how they taste.

They're basically breaded tater tots with some melted American cheese to go with the bits of potato inside.

I picked up a small order of 8 bites for $1.99.

The look of these remind me a bit of mini crab cakes or breaded zucchini medallions. The breading is fairly light and decently crispy with a bit of corn meal to it.

Inside is the typical potato flavor of a tater tot and tastes as much as you'd expect. The addition of melted American cheese adds a creaminess and a taste that reminds me of mac and cheese. The ones I got were piping hot; the cheese holds heat very well so I had to be careful eating them.

Overall, these are nice, but not terribly exciting. I'd like something more like nacho cheese with bits of jalapenos thrown instead of American cheese, but that's just me. You can probably ask for a dipping sauce with these or at least some ketchup. I had them plain though.

  1. Just tried these for the first time today, and I am not impressed, at all! Isn't fast food supposed to taste good? ick, these lack in so many ways. Flavorless, gross filling. Even after I added my own salt it didn't get better. If anything, they need to make these saltier, or better tasting...
