Review: Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Creme Oreos

Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Creme Oreo cookies are a new, limited-time version of the iconic cookie that purports to capture the essence of the iconic candy with a half chocolate-, half peanut butter-flavored creme.

I bought a 12.2-oz package for $2.99.

I was a bit dubious about these since Nabisco already offers Chocolate Creme Oreos as well as Peanut Butter Creme Oreos. I figured they'd just mash the two together and call it a day. I was wrong. It really does smell and taste a lot like a Reese's.

The peanut butter portion of the creme is key. It matches the slightly salty peanut butter you find in a Reese's, but obviously has a much smoother texture.

When I first heard of these, I wondered why they even had a chocolate half to the creme, seeing as the Oreo wafers are already chocolate. But the chocolate creme is essential and echoes the milk chocolate note of a real Reese's Peanut Butter Cup.

Overall, Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Creme Oreo cookies really hit the nail on the head. They really capture the chocolate and peanut butter notes of a Reese's and they taste awesome. I'm impressed.
