Taco Bell Testing Several Fried Chicken Strips Menu Items

Along with the Biscuit Taco, Taco Bell is testing a number of menu items featuring fried chicken strips breaded with tortilla chips. The test items include the new Chickstar, which is similar to a Crunchwrap Supreme but with chicken, as well as new GoStrips wraps.

The items are being tested in the Nashville, TN; Flint, MI; and Birmingham, AL markets so Taco Bell can see how customers like them and gauge feedback on the flavor, form, crispy chicken, etc.

The Chickstar features the new crispy chicken strips with tomatoes, cheese, and lettuce plus one of three sauces folded up in a flour tortilla like a Crunchwrap and grilled. The three sauces are Bacon Ranch (er, a sauce and bacon), Mango BBQ, and Buffalo. The price is $3.99 per Chickstar. It's also available in a combo with a Crunchy Taco and a large drink for $5.49.

GoStrips feature a crispy chicken strip with either Spicy Ranch, Mango BBQ, Buffalo, or Jalapeno Honey wrapped up in a flour tortilla and grilled. They're selling for $1.69 a piece.

Other crispy chicken items being tested include the Double Crispy Chicken Quesadilla, Crispy Chicken Soft Taco, and Crispy Chicken Fiesta Taco Salad, which are all like their regular menu counterparts but with fried crispy chicken strips instead beef or grilled chicken.
