Pizza Hut Launches New Gluten-Free Pizza

Pizza Hut is set to launch new Gluten-Free Pizzas through a partnership with Udi's brand (best known for gluten-free bread and baked goods) and the Gluten Intolerance Group (GIG).

Starting Monday, January 26, 2015, you'll be able to order a Cheese or Pepperoni Gluten-Free Pizza at select Pizza Hut locations nationwide. The crust for the new pizza is provided by Udi's with the GIG helping to develop the in-store training process for handling and preparing the pizzas.

The new Gluten-Free Pizzas measure 10" wide and are cut into six slices. Prices start at $9.99.

Additionally, catering to the trend of consumers who don't actually suffer from gluten intolerance but are, for whatever reason, looking to limit gluten in their diet, Pizza Hut is also offering reduced-gluten pizzas made with the same Udi's crust and topped with select ingredients (excludes meatballs, sauce drizzles, and crust flavors).

You can find a list of Pizza Hut restaurants that offer the new Gluten-Free Pizzas and reduced-gluten options at pizzahut.com/glutenfree.

Those with severe gluten allergies should bear in mind that Pizza Hut kitchens are not gluten-free environments.

Pizza Hut is a bit of a Johnny-come-lately to the gluten-free party as rival Domino's has offered the option since May of 2012, while fast casual chains like Blaze and Pielogy also offer gluten-free pizza options.
