Review: Sonic - French Toaster Breakfast Sandwich

Sonic's French Toaster Breakfast Sandwich takes your breakfast staples--ham, sausage, or bacon--plus eggs and American cheese, and puts them between two slices of thick French Toast.

They go for $3.99 but I received this one courtesy of Sonic.

I ordered the bacon version and it looked like someone forgot to scrape the grill before cooking my eggs as there were some burnt black bits on it. I just picked them off before eating but yeah, not exactly appetizing. Besides that, they also forgot the cheese. I thought about sending it back but I don't mind the lack of cheese (I'm pretty happy as long as there are bacon and eggs).
The eggs turn out pretty nicely. They were fluffy and quite plentiful.

The bacon was only just decent though. The smoky, bacon-y flavor was somewhat light and the texture was only somewhat crisp.

The French toast was soft and thick with a slight eggy sweetness touched with sticky maple (or more likely, maple-flavored) syrup. It works well with the bacon and eggs for a savory-sweet combination but I wouldn't mind eating it alone either.

Overall, Sonic's French Toaster Breakfast Sandwich was good despite some operational mishaps (with the charred bits and missing cheese). The eggs were especially nice as was the French toast slices. Some better quality bacon would make it really great.
