Review: Carl's Jr. - Sourdough Breakfast Sandwich

Carl's Jr.'s Sourdough Breakfast Sandwich features folded eggs, a round thick slice of ham, a slice of American, and a slice Swiss cheese between two slices of toasted sourdough bread.

I bought one for $2.99.

The sandwich actually felt a lot like a grilled cheese with egg and ham thrown in. The two slices were thoroughly melted, with the Swiss looking almost like mayo. They provided a nice, creamy, cheesy factor.

The ham added the requisite salty meatiness but could have been seared more for a bit of browning and maybe crisping.

The folded egg worked out pretty well. It wasn't fluffy but had a soft enough texture.

The sourdough didn't offer much in the sour department, but was toasted well on the outer surface and had a slight bit of chew.

Overall, Carl's Jr. Sourdough Breakfast Sandwich was good but not great. I liked the grilled cheese effect but the ham was a little plain.
