In case it isn't clear from the description, the tenders are formed chicken patties rather than actual cut strips of chicken. There's a overly smooth breading "skin" to them that didn't crisp up at all. The seasoned flavor was nice enough though and the chicken was moist.
The macaroni and cheese turned out rather well.
The macaroni hit a pleasing middle-ground between firm and tender. It did a good job of holding onto the sauce.
The sauce maintained a good balance of melted cheese and creamy sauce. There was a really nice, thick consistency to it and tasty cheese flavor. The breadcrumbs added grainy, but not crisp, texture.
Overall, Marie Callender's Country Fried Chicken Breast Tenders were pretty good. I didn't care for the weirdly smooth breading but the chicken had a nice flavor and the mac and cheese was about as good as it gets for frozen food.
