McDonald's Japan Offering New Cherry Blossom Seasoned Fries

McDonald's Japan is currently offering cherry blossom-seasoned fries as a new spring item.

The seasoning features a blend of dried seaweed (nori), Japanese cherry blossoms (sakura), and salt and can be bought in a small packet to shake onto your fries for 30 yen (~25 cents US).

The seasoning has been available since the end of March (I caught this a little late) and will be available through early May, while supplies last. They were introduced along with teriyaki burgers.

Cherry blossoms are a popular flavor in Japan during the spring when they bloom.
