The nighttime sodas pair the taste of Mountain Dew with a little bit (5%) of fruit juice plus "electrolytes for taste." (what?) Like the morning version, they come in 16-ounce cans and come in at 80 calories per can.
Like all Mountain Dew beverages, the "kick" comes from caffeine. In this case, it's 92 mg per can (which is about the same as a 9.5-ounce bottled Starbucks Frappuccino but slightly more than an 8.4-ounce Red Bull). A 12-ounce can of regular Mountain Dew contains 54 mg of caffeine.
Mountain Dew Kickstart was launched last year as a breakfast soda in Orange Citrus and Fruit Punch flavors.
