Review: Trader Joe's - Milk Chocolate Salted Caramel Butter Cookies

Trader Joe's... er Trader Jacque's Milk Chocolate Salted Caramel Butter Cookies are made in France and feature salted caramel covered in milk chocolate, affixed onto a thin butter cookie.

A 5.64-ounce box was $3.99.

The chocolate and caramel make up a bulk of the cookie.

The chocolate was deliciously smooth, and creamy. It forms a pretty thick layer around the caramel.

The caramel was the liquid-y like you might find in a Caramello bar. It was sweet and rich with a bit of buttery-ness to it, but could have used a bit more salt.

The cookie portion was good and crispy, but lacked the strong buttery flavor that you might find in, say, Danish butter cookies. It goes well enough with the chocolate though and keeps it from melting in your hand.

Overall, Trader Joe's Milk Chocolate Salted Caramel Butter Cookies were less cookie and more candy. The candy portion was very good with fine quality chocolate and a liquid core of caramel, but the lesser cookie underpinning it was just average.
