Review: Starbucks - Caramel Flan Latte

Starbucks' Caramel Flan Latte is made with steamed milk, espresso, caramel flan-flavored syrup, and topped with caramel-infused whipped cream and a caramelized sugar drizzle.

I bought a 12-ounce Tall for $3.95.

The whipped cream has a light caramel flavor to it that's pretty enjoyable on its own. I wouldn't mind eating just the whipped cream on it's own. It's not too heavy or rich but tastes pretty good and is essential to the drink's flavor.

The caramelized sugar drizzle is like a lighter version of Starbucks' caramel sauce. It lacks the buttery notes but also the cloying sweetness. It tastes more or less like a simple syrup (basically sugar melted into water) that has been just slightly caramelized.

The drink itself echoes the same traits as the toppings but with the added hint of coffee. There's a fairly creamy caramel flavor to it but not so overpowering as Starbucks' Caramel Macchiato.

Overall, I found Starbucks' Caramel Flan Latte to be a much preferable alternative to their popular Caramel Macchiato. It's a little light on the flan but doesn't tip the scale too far with the caramel front.
