News: Carl's Jr. - Jumbo Chili Dogs Return to SoCal

In honor of founder Carl Karcher's January birthday, participating Carl's Jr. restaurants in the greater Los Angeles and Orange County areas will once again be offering limited-time Jumbo Chili Dogs at two for $3.

Each Jumbo Chili Dog features a Farmer John hot dog nestled in a toasted hot dog bun along with spicy beef chili, chopped onions, and mustard.

Why hot dogs? Carl Karcher got his start in fast food with the purchase of a hot dog cart selling hot dogs and chili dogs near downtown Los Angeles. When he founded Carl's Jr., the hot dogs found their way onto the menu but were eventually phased out in the 1990s. They recently returned for a limited time back in 2009 and are now back again in select markets.

In addition to the greater Los Angeles and Orange County areas, the chili dogs can also be found for a limited time at participating restaurants in: Bakersfield; Las Vegas; Palm Springs; Salt Lake City; Santa Barbara; Medford; Reno; Spokane; Austin; El Paso; Oklahoma City; Tulsa; Wichita Falls; and Houston.
