Review: KFC - Extra Crispy Boneless Chicken

KFC's new, limited-time Extra Crispy Boneless Chicken is pretty much like their Extra Crispy fried chicken but without the bones.

I picked up one piece as part of a Go Cup for $2.49.

The Go Cup comes with a side of potato wedges. It also comes with a clear plastic lid that steams its contents a little. The result was a mix of crispy and soft fried batter on my lone piece of boneless chicken. The cup and/or lids seems like it could use some vents like Burger King has on their "Frypods" to keep the contents crunchy.

The chicken was a decent-sized boneless breast filet (dark meat is also available). More importantly, it was juicy (although that can be hit or miss depending on how long the chickens been sitting). If the chicken wasn't quite "extra crispy," it was tasty with a light bit of seasoning; just enough so that you can still dip it.

Extra Crispy Boneless is not much different from KFC's Extra Crispy Tenders except for one key difference: it's bigger and thicker than a tender resulting in a better chicken to batter ratio.

Overall, KFC's Extra Crispy Boneless Chicken was pretty good. My piece was delicious and juicy. I just wish it was crispier.
