Frozen Friday: Ben & Jerry's - Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Ice Cream

Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup ice cream is a Walmart-exclusive flavor featuring chocolate peanut butter ice cream with mini chocolaty peanut butter cups.

A pint was $3.48.

The chocolate peanut butter ice cream is a blend of the two rather than a swirled mix of two separate ice creams. The flavor was more chocolate than peanut butter and I would have preferred it the other way around. The chocolate and peanut butter covered up the ice cream's creaminess a little more than I'd like, while leaving the high density.

The chocolaty peanut buttery cups were pretty sizable and added a solid crunch and the namesake flavor. It was a bit jarring going between the fairly large candies and the smooth ice cream. The inclusion of a swirled ribbon or some crushed peanuts might have well served as a mediator between the two.

Overall, Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup ice cream was just okay for me. I prefer the regular Peanut Butter Cup ice cream for its more prominent peanuttiness, and chocolate ice cream swirled with peanut butter for a better consistency.
