Review: Mrs. Fields Nibblers Cookies

Mrs. Fields' Nibblers are soft-baked, bite-sized, fudge-dipped cookies that are now available in packaged form in three flavors: Double Chocolate Fudge, Milk Chocolate Chip, and Peanut Butter Chip. These aren't the ones you buy online or at Mrs. Fields stores.

They're currently only available at Kroger supermarkets in 6.6-oz boxes for $2.99 but they sent me all three flavors to try along with a mini milk bottle (which looked cool so I included it in the pictures). There are 15 cookies per box.

While these are soft-baked, they're not quite to the almost-fall-apart texture of Chewy Chips Ahoys and have more of a solid quality that I prefer. The fudge is pretty sweet and creamy with a milk chocolaty flavor. Just beware if you're feeding these to your kids, that it can get pretty melty and messy.

The Double Chocolate Fudge cookies are for chocolate lovers. They're chocolate cookies with semisweet and white chocolate chips, dipped in fudge. I liked these for their strong chocolate flavor and the blend of chocolate and creamy flavors from the chips.

If peanut butter and chocolate are your thing (as they are mine), the Peanut Butter Chip variety feature peanut butter cookies with peanut butter chips, dipped in fudge. While these have a nice enough peanut butter taste to them, I wanted more for two reasons: one, I really like peanut butter; and two, it would balance out the chocolate fudge better.

For the traditionalist, there's Milk Chocolate Chip cookies made with milk chocolate chips, dipped in fudge. There were plenty of creamy milk chocolate chips but they're a bit on the sweet side. I prefer the deeper chocolate flavor of semisweet or dark chocolate chips.

Overall, I enjoyed Mrs. Field Nibblers a fair bit. They're just a little on the overly-sweet side but have a nice texture and flavor. If I were to rank them, Double Chocolate Fudge would be first, Peanut Butter Chip would be second, and Milk Chocolate Chip third.
