Review: Quiznos - Chipotle Steak Ciabatta Toastie

Quiznos' Chipotle Steak Ciabatta Toastie is a sandwich with a toasted ciabatta bun that they're testing. It's filled with sliced Black Angus roast beef, cheddar, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and chipotle mayo.

I bought one for $3.99.

When I first saw the sandwich, it looked a little small in the picture (and for the price) so I asked how big it was. They showed me the bun and it was bigger than most burger buns and a very good size for a sandwich.

With each sandwich toasted to order, the bun came out with a soft, airy, and importantly, warm crumb and a very nice, crispy crust (a welcomed change from the ciabatta buns of other fast food chains).

Inside, the roast beef was flavorful, tender, and juicy. There was a good amount but the placement could be a little bit better to cover the edges.

The cheddar actually tasted like cheddar rather than some vague, creamy cheese (also very welcome).

The tomatoes and lettuce were pretty fresh and otherwise standard.

The chipotle sauce provided a creamy kick of medium heat.

Overall, a very tasty sandwich from Quiznos and the best iteration of a Ciabatta bun I've encountered at a fast food chain so far. I especially liked the bun and the cheddar cheese.
