Review: Herr's - Jalapeno Poppers Flavored Cheese Curls

Herr's Jalapeno Poppers Flavored Cheese Curls is really just jalapeno-flavored cheese curls since the cheese portion of the poppers is already there by default.

They don't really sell these in California but I found a bag for $1.50 at Big Lots.

These are essentially a puffy version of Crunchy Jalapeno Cheddar Cheetos (or vice versa; I'm not sure which came first).

They have the requisite airy crispness of cheese puffs and a nice dose of powdered cheddar cheese accentuated by the definite taste and spicy kick of jalapeno (which is novel if you're more used to the pickled variety). I think it might be just slightly spicier than Frito Lay's Cheetos version, but whether you like one or the other really comes down to whether your prefer cheese puffs to crunchy, gnarled club-looking things.

Overall, Herr's Jalapeno Poppers Flavored Cheese Curls were really good and really cheap (at Big Lots at least)! The jalapeno really works well with cheese and isn't too overbearing nor too weak. They struck a really nice balance between the two.
