Review: Chocolate Banana Chips Ahoy Cookies

Chocolate Banana Chips Ahoy cookies feature banana-flavored chips and semisweet chocolate chunks.

A 9.5-oz package cost me $3.49.

This limited-time flavor sports a similar consistency and texture to the Chunky Chips Ahoy line. There's an audible crunch to some bites and the chunks are bigger than the chips of the original version. The cookies also seem slightly thicker (probably to accommodate the bigger chunks).

Flavor-wise, there's a strong, creamy banana flavor throughout that reminds me a bit of Ben & Jerry's Chunky Monkey, especially when you throw in the chocolate chunks, which add a bit of contrasting richness to the mix.

Overall, Chocolate Banana Chips Ahoy strike a good balance between the chocolate and banana flavors (skewing slightly in favor of the banana) and have a really nice crunch to them.
