McDonald's started testing a limited late-night breakfast menu last year in Ohio and apparently has expanded the test to my local 24-hour McDonald's here in Southern California. The test is also ongoing in certain locations in Utah and Massachusetts (I'm pretty surprised I was able to spell that in one try... I usually miss or add an "s" or "t").
I thought you guys might be interested in a closer look, so here we go:
The "Breakfast After Midnight" menu centers around the McMuffin (if you want biscuits, you're going to have to wait till after 4 am); probably because you just have to toast them. For some reason, you can get them with sausage, but not bacon (I'm going to guess the reason is sausage holds better in a warmer where bacon loses that desirable crispness). So your McMuffin options are: the Egg Muffin, Sausage McMuffin, and Sausage McMuffin with Egg.
Hash Browns? They're on the menu.
Also available are Hotcakes with Sausage, Fruit & Maple Oatmeal, Sausage Burritos, and the entire selection of McDonald's regular and McCafe beverages (that includes orange juice, smoothies and frappes).
In Utah, you can also get a Sausage McGriddle...
