Quaker's Chocolate and Almond Soft Baked Oatmeal Cookies are made with whole grain oats and embedded with chunks of chocolate and bits of almonds.
They cost $2.99 for a 8.8-ounce box of six individually-wrapped cookies.
The cookie comes in a bit on the dry side and is a little mealy. It lacks that brown sugar caramel flavor of a standard chocolate chip or oatmeal cookie and instead has a weird and slightly off-putting aftertaste. There's a decent softness to it.
The almonds don't feature very well in the cookie with small bits that are very easy to miss.
The chocolate pieces don't quite hit the right chocolaty note for me.
Overall, Quaker's Chocolate and Almond Soft Baked Cookies were a miss for me. While I'm okay with eating them, they're pretty sub-par for packaged cookies. I have to say, I was expecting more when I heard the news that the oatmeal company was making oatmeal cookies.
