Review: McDonald's - Bacon McDouble

McDonald's Bacon McDouble is, just like it sounds, a McDouble with a few strips of bacon. Specifically, it's two beef patties, a slice of American cheese, bacon, pickles, onions, ketchup and mustard on a toasted bun.

I picked one up for $2 (71 cents more than the McDouble, which is now $1.29 in my area).

If you've never had a McDouble, it's a good amount of beef for the size, a nice bit of melted cheese with some tang and sweetness from the ketchup and onions. I never really notice the mustard and the pickles pack a fairly standard sour bite.

The question then is does bacon make it better? Wait, what? Of course it makes it better! Bacon makes everything better! Okay, not everything... but it definitely makes burgers better.

There was surprisingly good bacon coverage on my Bacon McDouble with three strips of bacon. The flavor was decent as far as bacon goes and meshed well with the other components. Also, the new thick cut delivered a satisfying crunch.

Overall, McDonald's Bacon McDouble is pretty good. It provides a beefier version of that classic McDonald's Hamburger taste with the added bonus of crispy, smoky bacon.
