Review: Jack in the Box - New Southern Style Biscuit

Jack in the Box recently updated their biscuits with a new recipe and have taken to calling them "Southern Style" Biscuits.

They're currently promoting them with either bacon or sausage plus a fried egg and cheese at 2 for $3 (normally $2.99 each).

Compared to their old biscuits, these seem more buttery and moist. There was a nice crust and soft crumb, but it's very crumbly, which made them a bit messy to eat.

Overall, Jack's new biscuits are better than the old ones (which I remember being a bit chewy and dry). They fall somewhere in the middle of the pack in so far as the fast food biscuit pantheon goes.
