Review: Krispy Kreme - Birthday Cake Batter Donut

Krispy Kreme's Birthday Cake Batter Donut is a yeast shell donut filled with a blend of Kreme and birthday cake batter filling, topped with yellow icing and confetti sprinkles.

I bought one for $1.19.

The filling is a nice blend of sweet, creamy, and egginess. Similar to cake batter, the consistency is smooth and slightly runny compared to Krispy Kreme's typical creme filling. Be careful if you're eating it on the go.

The confetti sprinkles are plentiful and add a sweet candy crunch.

The yeast donut has the soft, airy, cloud-like texture that Krispy Kreme is known for. Combined with the other components, there's a pleasant combination of soft, gooey, and crunchy.

Overall, I enjoyed Krispy Kreme's Birthday Cake Batter Donut quite a bit. Everything was well thought out and came together just right. A must for cake batter fans. Of the two new donuts (I also tried the new Brownie Batter Donut), I preferred the flavor of the Birthday Cake Batter even though I love chocolate.
