News: Wendy's Testing "Build Your Own" Burger

Wendy's is trying out a "Build Your Own" burger/ sandwich menu out in Columbus, Ohio.

While the burger chain already allows you to customize your burger how your want it, having all the options laid out on the menu gives let's customers know the available choices as well as the pricing for said choices.

The test was first reported by QSR, who was told that the program is "an early [operational] test."

Available options on the menu are grouped into Protein, Bun, Cheese, Sauces, and Toppings.

Protein choices are hamburger (1, 2, or 3 patties) or chicken (Spicy, Homestyle, or Grilled).

Bun choices are a premium bun, pretzel bun, or no bun at all.

Cheese choices include Asiago, cheddar, American, blue cheese crumbles, cheddar cheese sauce.

Sauces choices include mayo, ketchup, mustard, smoky honey mustard, barbecue sauce, Asiago ranch, and garlic aioli.

Lastly, toppings options are pickles, red onions, tomato, lettuce, spring mix, jalapenos, sauteed onions, and bacon.

You probably notice that all the choices are either currently available on the Wendy's menu or have been featured in a previous limited-time offer.

McDonald's had been testing a similar concept here in California.
