Review: Pizza Hut - Ultimate Hershey's Chocolate Chip Cookie

Pizza Hut's Ultimate Hershey's Chocolate Chip Cookie is a giant, fresh-baked 8-inch chocolate chip cookie made with Hershey's semi-sweet chocolate chips.

I got one for $4.99 with the purchase of a pizza (it's $5.99 otherwise).

The cookie came piping hot; I had to let it cool a little before taking the first bite: Moist, gooey, and very chocolaty! There's a soft chewiness to the cookie and, coupled with the relative thickness, it feels somewhat like a blondie (that's a brownie without the chocolate).

Most bites contained at least some melted chocolate (the company states that there are 165 chips per cookie) and the chips are a little bigger than in most store-bought chocolate chip cookies. Curiously, the chips stayed pretty melty even the next day (at room temperature).

Compared to Papa John's (which, granted, I ate last October), the only real differences are Pizza Hut's version feels like there's more chocolate and is just slightly less sweet. If you're looking for a convenient and tasty dessert with your pizza, you can't go wrong with either. If push came to shove, I'd say I like Pizza Hut's version slightly more.

Overall, Pizza Hut's Ultimate Hershey's Chocolate Chip Cookie is really good, in the way that fresh-baked, warm cookies tend to be. It would go great with some vanilla ice cream.
